Unique and Flexible Program
There are many solid computer science programs across the country with some game programming classes. There are also art schools offering degrees in game design and 3D digital art. The University of Denver programs in Game Development offer the student the best of both of these approaches combined with a solid traditional university foundation from a top ranked national university. Our programs are especially challenging in that they develop both left-brain technical thinking as well as right-brain creative/artistic thinking. This combination of left-right brain training, combined with a traditional university liberal arts basis, provides the type of education we feel is needed for the 21st century.

Students in our program can wait until the end of the second year before they decide if they want to specialize in technical programming, digital media and art, or a combination of the two. In fact, at the end of the second year they can chose to continue towards a BS or BA in Game Development, a BS or BA in Computer Science,, a BA in Studio Art, a BA in Electronic Media Arts Design, or a BA in Digital Media Studies, and still finish in 4 years. This flexibility allows students to self-direct their degree focus based on passion and aptitude.
